This Episode's Recipe
Greek Mule (Santorini-Inspired with Mastiha)
What makes it “Greek”?
This version uses mastiha liqueur, a unique, aromatic spirit made from resin harvested on the island of Chios. It has a slightly piney, herbal, almost vanilla-like flavor that instantly gives the drink a Mediterranean vibe.
Ingredients
This cocktail includes...
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 0.5 oz mastiha liqueur
- 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
- 3–4 oz ginger beer (to top)
- Ice
- Garnish: cucumber slice or mint sprig (optional but very Greek-feeling)
Instructions
- Fill a copper mug (or glass) with ice.
- Add vodka, mastiha liqueur, and lime juice.
- Top with ginger beer.
- Stir gently to combine.
- Garnish with cucumber or mint.
Natalie’s Tip:
"For the most authentic Greek flavour, chill your mastiha liqueur before mixing. Mastiha is best served cold, which helps bring out its distinctive herbal and pine-like notes. Garnish with fresh mint from your garden if you have it – it's a simple touch that instantly transports me back to the Greek islands."
